I can’t believe this! I mean, fucking Anderson! Lestrade! The DVD!

Happiness due to the new content aside, I don’t feel that Sherlock is in character at all. It’s not like him to let his guard down in front of ANYONE, let alone Lestrade…

John tries to explain it, but I’m just not feeling it. Yeah, there’s a definite change in Sherlock over the six episodes where he becomes more human, but I just don’t see this kind of behaviour as in character. Not in a birthday video made before The Fall, at least.

In the trailer, he kind of walks a fine line between reverting back to series one and showcasing how he changed pre-Fall, but either way, it’s just weird. Especially with the promo and Watson’s blog entry giving us a little more of why and how he’s changed.

Whatever… tomorrow is our final day with Eleven, and then it’s about a week until I get to dial in to a Belgium Slingbox and watch “The Empty Hearse” in real time. (SUCK ON THAT BBC!)

Also - I need to find American crap to write fan fic about. Between the UK dictionaries (Mac and Firefox add-on) and the effort to brit-pick my fan fic without a brit-picker, I’ve gone completely ‘dark side’ (to quote one friend). Can’t wait to see how that goes over at the new job:

“Yeah, I spell words the British way because I write fan fic for British TV and radio programmes and people get pissed off if they see American spelling and other crap like that in the fic.”

“What kind of fan fic? Oh, you know, m/m slash. No porn, though, just fluffy romancey stuff.”

I actually have mixed feelings about Matt Smith leaving.

I’m more than a little pissed at how this episode has been spoiled by the BBC:

First, we learned that Matt Smith was leaving.

Then we learned that the new Doctor was going to be played by Peter Capaldi.

Then we learned that Eleven dies. Dies!

There’s also the teeny tiny little issue of the regeneration limit, which (in theory) we’ve already passed due to Hurt and Ten!Two.

On the other hand, I’m curious to see how Moffat handles the fact that Capaldi was in Who and Torchwood.

I’m also curious as to how the regeneration limit is handled.

I guess the good thing is that despite being spoiled on (what I feel) are the major plot twists, I’m curious to see how Moffat fucks this up.

I mean, I’m curious to see how he writes his way out of the clusterfuck he created…

It’s going to be a long three days.

Christmas movie marathon!

I’m making J sit through a Martin Freeman Christmas movie double feature: Love Actually and Nativity.

I have some friends who absolutely hate, and I mean HATE, Love Actually and I’m not going to pretend it’s a cinematic masterpiece. It is, in fact, a big steaming pile of shit, but Martin Freeman as a body double cracks me the fuck up. (It just aired on AMC and they edited out his bits (HA!), so if you’re curious, catch it on Netflix.)

Last year, Silent P gave me a t-shirt that says “Admitting you’re an asshole is the first step.”

It’s a size smaller than I normally wear, and I never wore it before I started working out.

I may not have lost any weight during the past year, but the shape of my body has definitely changed.

So, I wore the shirt the other day and decided to take a selfie.

25 attempts later, I gave up.

I never, ever, ever, ever, EVER, thought I’d say this, but I was uncomfortable posting any of the good ones because they made my tits look HUGE.

Like porn star, silicone implant, huge.

Losing weight and growing boobs.

Even if I never survive a GORUCK Challenge, working out has definitely been worth it.
